The tennis club of Zoendal serves as the community's hub of politics and social status. The Flodder family's arrival disrupts this serene environment, bringing an onslaught of dysfunction and absurdity. Their characters, ranging from Ma Flodder, who scavenges trash for food and brews illegal liquor in her basement, to the eldest daughter, a figure of extreme vice, create a darkly humorous contrast to the wholesome Brady Bunch or the Waltons.
